Middlesex County, Ontario | I have a box like this (but made of metal) that sits on my shop tool box. I use it as you describe, throw in what tools I need, throw it on a floorboard or bed, and take what I need to where I need to go with one hand. When the job is done it returns to the toolbox and gets fully cleaned out.
Is that kind of what you want?
I ran mine over last week and now I need a new one. Was thinking I might try something wood and a little deeper than what I had. Wood because it won’t damage painted surfaces or slide as bad.
If you want to leave often used tools in it then it’s impossible to draw the line and you might as well put a fully stocked Montezuma triangle box on your side by side.
