After the 60 series Detroit came out I had heard of the DEDEC story, & a guy who had dump trucks told me his 60 series was "built by John Deere"...sure enough, the front cover had the "connected" JD foundry mark on it. So JD was in fact supplying castings for Detroit, don't know how long that went on.
