North Central Ohio | Yes it will depreciate quickly if you buy a brand new one, but with the ROI of the application (over a ground rig or airplane), it does not take long to pay for the drone even at the new price and the cost of depreciation. A T40 will last you 45000 acres before needing significant maintenance and to be honest with you, as a farmer myself, it makes perfect sense to run one on my operation even if I did not do it for custom. It allows me to pre-pay fungicides (saving 8-10%), cut the application cost (around me, the plane is $15.50), become more independent with the application timing, window and number of passes. I have no problem buying these spray drones new because they pay for themselves, probably with a higher ROI than a lot of other farm machinery we put our money into. Just some food for thought and my opinion as a farmer, custom applicator and dealer as well.
