| Study up on N loss. Then study up on soil temperature in December, January and February and even March. I figure less loss in the fall as normally soil conditions are favorable.
Here we run NH3 in the spring as soon as the ground thaws, or in the fall while it is freezing up. So the soil microbes have the same amount of time they are active either way.
Fall NH3 is also less apt to cause diches if we have a heavy rain also as the ground has had more time to settle.
Some soils NH3 is good for. It helps lower PH.
