I read the article.   From beginning to end.  

When finished, I thought... "I bet this article is a bit old."

Sure enough.... 20 years old.   Which makes me question the contentions offered by the article.   They may be appropriate for the yield goals and yields obtained 20 year ago, but I'm not so sure the author's assertions are applicable to today's yields.  I'm not definitive with my opinion, thereof.... but suspicious.  And like so often.... some experimenting on our farms is needed to confirm whether the author's thoughts are pertinent for today's yields... or not.
