hobby95 - 1/28/2024 22:16 Been pulling a chisel plow applicator for 30 years. Currently using a 2410 JD chisel plow at 16" spacing. No way would a coulter applicator work in hard silage ground at high rates. Only hog manure i pump is my own so can't really justify a coulter bar for my couple million gallons. Actually, very few coulter dragline applicators up this way. 2 others just like mine plus a couple Calumet Pumping ripper bars.

How high of rates?    How hard of ground?        Big dairy down the road applies all of their manure on silage ground with a coulter bar.   From what I've seen it does a very acceptable job putting the manure in the ground.

I'd rather cut a chisel bar into short scrap iron with a torch than have it used to apply manure on ground that I farm.
