Thinking about changing a few things on my nitrogen applications. Was quoted $15.25 an acre by coop to put N-SERVE in the tanks before delivering them. That seems high and was wondering if a guy put the metering system on the anhydrous bar if I could save any significant dollars by buying the N-Serve elsewhere?
N serve should be able to be bought for around the $10/ac mark.
So you need to cover 1000 ac at least to pay for the system on your bar.
Don’t forget though that n nserve injection kit can give you some problems especially the pump which can add up.
We added the injection kit to ours in 16 I think and it was around 5k. We like it for not only saving money on n serve but also for changing rates between different fields.
If we variable rate nh3 then the serve can stay the same.
Or to say it another way if we order a 200lb actual rate from the coop but turn it up to 220 we are wasting money.
The argument can be made if we even need n serve or not too but that’s not what you asked.
The other benefit is keeping the nserve out of your cooler which I think it’s very beneficial. |
