As White Shadow said corn based ethanol in Brazil is the same as in the US with Brazil requiring much more carbon polluting truck transport than the US.

The only way Brazil corn ethanol can lower its intensity score is to swap itself out for sugarcane based ethanol. Sugarcane ethanol gets “friendly” California carbon scores simply due to 2 reasons: 1. sugarcane being a perennial crop. 2. Cogeneration capacities and capabilities out the azz end of sugar refinery by burning the bagasse to produce steam/electricity.

Summit produces the corn ethanol for Brazil domestic market and this enables more cane-based ethanol to be exported.
