Many years ago there was a popcorn expert interviewed on a national news program. I can't remember his name, but he said more important than the source of the popcorn, was that it was popped in retained bacon or sausage pan drippings.
No longer eat popcorn, but enjoyed it when made that way, along with lots of butter and salt.
