$5k is a stretch for a clapped out truck with the only desirable thing it has to offer being the engine, which in this case is junk.
I’d call around and find a junk yard motor. Pull the pan to check things out, reuse your fuel system and install. A engine swap in one of those trucks can be done in a weekend with a helping hand.
