The engine in my pickup just developed a serious knock in less than a mile.  now undriveable.  it is a 2009 dodge pickup with 175K miles and has a cummins.  interior is very nice with a new drivers seat cushion last year, all new air conditioning system last year.  exterior paint is mostly very good patriot blue but rust the size of your fist above the back wheelwell and some tailgate dings.

I talked to cummins store and they suspect a failed rod bushing in one piston.  the informal estimate was 50-60 hours at $175 per plus parts.  would have to take the front of the truck apart and pull the engine.  worst case was a repacement reman engine from cummins at $20,000 or more plus the labor.  30K?  

I wondered what it is worth in its present shape?
