| If you cut it off you can cut it at an angle to make the ball plumb at the height you will be using it also if you wish. the ball looks like it is about the same diameter of the width of the top plate if you just decide to weld it on you will be welding on the edges, so thickness not so critical I think I would be more concerned about the rest of the framework then the top, it does not look too heavy to me, depends on what conditions you are using it under some too, if pulling the trailers loaded in soft ground or snow it will need more strength then on hard flat surfaces and if you are on the road with them I would also me more concerned, if something happens on the back forty not as serious if are out out on the highway. | |
