Buy them in good shape unless you have massive amounts of feed and the weather is nice.
I've done it.
Calved, weaned at 70- 90 days, sold pot loads of fat cows late April- mid March.
I wouldn't bother with a bull unless they are younger.
You will get some good cows with some bad(mean) cows.
The only other way is buy one iron broken mouth cows from out west.
I would be calving them now for spring fat market.
