If only one cow it iseasier to milk by hand if she has decent sze teats IMO, but previous poster is right is hard to keep it clean just get a couple old stanchions , suppose there are none out there by you still some around here. Nothing wrong with the old surge pulsators if they are in OK shape and clean and oil them once in a while.
