Rissler conveyors (wood trough with wood slats) run just about forever. The only real wear points are angles. Those conveyors run the empty chain back on the top of the trough rather than underneath. Our setup used a metal auger haylage unloader (Laidig). The conveyor carried grain plus haylage and corn silage. The auger wore out and had to be replaced while the conveyor was still in good shape.
