- City living is more enticing
- no one is willing to raise livestock
- outdoor production is impossible for the reason that those skills are lost, besides no one wants to
While there is an inkling of truth in each, none are the determining factors.
Trust me, we have many who would " farm " were it not for the nearly insurmountable costs of acquisition ( $6500 / acre ),
equipment, insurance, competition with integration ( cafo's ) on and on....
If your not directly in line for inheritance; or implement " strategic marriage " forget it.
