I like the idea. Kinda thought about doing it. But I think they are saying it will cost 2/3 the price of a new pickup when it's all said and done and I don't think you can buy a used pickup, install that setup and then sell it for a depreciation rate similar to what you might see with a new pickup. So I doubt it's something I'll ever pursue.
One thing I have noticed (and maybe I haven't looked into it enough) is that they offer disc brakes but they don't mention regenerative braking on their power units. I think regenerative braking is a key to making EV's and hybrids work so I'd be a little concerned about it if that doesn't exist on the pickup version. |
