SW Louisiana | I have one, probably the same brand you linked, and use it on a polaris ranger. Works great if a calf needs colostrum or other attention, and the mama should follow after the baby is caught, if needed. I can usually move the pair safely to the working pens by myself in a few minutes without having to move the rest of the herd.
The calf needs to be pretty young , less than 2 days old, or sick to be caught. They are loud and don't do well in mud.
Not sure a tote cage would work, especially if you're mounting behind the utv. | |
