Macon, IL
Sigh: Let me try this another way.

You justify your semi's by saying you spend hours sitting in line during harvest.

My initial thought was: Jeez-what a dumbass-why doesn't he build some bins? But I don't say that-because I don't know squat about your farm-things are different there-and I assume you have done your homework.

HERE: I haul to 6 elevators-I would say our AVERAGE wait time was < 5 mins. We have no problems hauling all of our beans with 1 tandem and a grain cart. A semi would not make me one bit more efficient. Depending on location 2 tandems can sometimes keep up in corn. A couple farms-everything goes in the bin-cart to a wagon sitting over auger-again-how it a semi supposed to make me more efficient?

Can you seriously not understand that things may be different on operations that are hundreds of miles apart-different efficiencies and constraints? That maybe what is right for you may not be best for someone else?

Either way-I am done with this conversation-have a good rest of the year.
