NW Missouri | I didn’t reply to the OP because I have nothing useful to tell him. I’d tell him that we have less in two 15 year old Volvos and timpte trailers than guys are talking about spending here in this thread for a single tandem. I’d tell him in MO you don’t have to have a CDL if you’re hauling your own stuff - or if your hired hands are hauling your own stuff. OP doesn’t care - that’s not his situation.
I posted because I also don’t get baby semis. Just as much money or more to be able to haul less. No thanks. Give me 5 axles, a sleeper, and 450+ hp. I’ll set the cruise for the 120 mile trip to KC in the middle of the night and sleep at the head of the line till they open the next morning. I’ll be back to the field before the dew burns off.
To the OP: I’m not a fan of super singles. If one goes out on you, you are stranded right there. I’d rather be able to limp to a decent spot to change a tire. | |
