Malta, Illinois | I have been saying that older drivers (over 75) have to take a road test to renew their CDL in the state of Illinois. There are plenty of former truckers between the age of 75 and 80 who would love to haul corn for someone in the fall and are quite capable of doing so. A lot of them can’t pass the pre-trip and driving portion. It’s jacked up. It also prevents many guys who have just retired from something else from obtaining a CDL and driving for someone. The nazis at the testing facilities make it too hard and they don’t feel like going through the hassle. | |
