| Paul, I "crunched the numbers' repeatedly some years ago, and decided that semi trucks were the better way to go, at least for me. Unless you have a specific need for tandems with beds and lifts, you can get more hauling capacity for the $. A person can buy older "million mile" tractors pretty cheaply...(higher now than a few years ago though.)
Downside: In Kansas, semis require a CDL license, while tandem drivers can get by with a standard license,......so you can hire the neighbor kid, or a family member to drive the truck during rush times. showboat | |
