SW Wisconsin | 50+ here and rain. Last year had a couple of highs right around 0 about this time. Got me wondering: "hot" this time of year is about 50, "cold" could be -30. That's an 80 degree range. "Hot" in July is about 100, "cold" would be about 50. That's a 50 degree range. Furthermore, there's a water phase change in the winter range but not the summer range, and the phase change should take more energy and limit temperature swings. Why so much difference in the range? My brother and I were talking about it and he had an idea that makes some sense, I'm curious what other people think causes the difference. | |
