WC IL | Had a chance to buy 2 of them in about 2013. One was all original, good straight sheet metal, only blemish on it was where the heat houser had rubbed the hood in front of the steering wheel. Still had the Solar turbo. Other one was a bit rougher, somebody had tried to make a set of fender fuel tanks on it, real cobbled up mess. Sheet metal not as nice. Had factory 23.1-34 rear tires.
Could have bought them for $7,000 each, guy said he would pay to have the fuel pumps cleaned up before we tried to start them as they had been sitting for about 5 years.
Been kicking myself ever since that I didn't take him up on it.
Same guy had a fully restored 1468, and matching numbers Dodge Daytona and Plymouth Superbird. He told me he had turned down $250,000 each for the cars. Not sure if he still has any of them. | |
