Central Minnesota | My Grandpa bought a new 806 in 1965 to farm 560 acres. They also milked 40 cows, fed hogs and a lot of fat cattle.
Anyways, the 806 was built on a Friday and the transmission was put together wrong and didn’t have 3rd gear. The dealer brought out a 1206 with a 3 point and 18.4-38s while the 806 was getting fixed. They were chopping corn and Grandpa said that thing could really sing.
Grandpa asked his Dad if he thought they should just keep the 1206. He replied in his thick German brogue, “For cripes sake if we get a tractor that big we won’t have enough work to do!”
