Subject: RE: Mineral vs Pellets in a Feed Wagon

Wellington, MO
I know this has been mentioned in the past and not trying to steal the thread but what order or when is the best time to add mineral/balancers to the mix? I've been told to add small dry inclusions first. Given the fact that I have to load ingredients at two different locations, I load balancer and cracked corn first then try to add all my ground hay with augers turning. I figure this gets the small mineral swept to the center of the mixer. Next I add my MDGS to start adding moisture that the mineral can bind to. Then finally I add the silages and let mix. I guess I was worried about adding wet ingredients right after the mineral figuring that the mineral would get stuck to the wet products and not mixed as thoroughly.
