Subject: RE: Vermeer R series round balers

NW IA
I have a 504R Premium.

When I bought mine the upgrades to get to the premium were priced in such a way that I felt it was the best value.

Zero complaints, but I should mention that this is the first round baler I've ever owned or operated. It's really fast and fun to run, but I'm comparing it to putting everything through a 336 Deere.

I don't think the R series are considered economy balers. I believe they are just a smaller version of the 5X6 balers, very solidly built. The Vermeer website has comparison charts and videos that you may find helpful.

The only thing I might have changed if I had it to do over, would be to go to the 604, just to make better time in corn stalks or less valuable hay. I believe the 4X5 or smaller bales fit best in the premium hay market where I tend to sell to small volume users.
