Amherst WI | We got a letter from the WI beef council about the checkoff dollars that they might be missing out on from freezer beef.
To say I’m irritated about is an understatement.
If the beef check off was so good at their job why are so many smaller producers trying to go direct and avoiding the normal channels?
If the beef checkoff is good at spending the funds they already receive then can someone please do the math for me on having Sally secretary jones around on Facebook and Craigslist looking for meat sales, figure out who the people are, find their address, fill an envelope with this stupid letter and a brochure, stamp it for $.63 just to find out Bob and Becky backyard producer sells 4 head a year this way.
They have to be total idiots to think this is a good investment of their time while waking the sleeping giant in the process.
