W Texas
I can’t answer this specific question, but Mex cattle are branded with an M on back right hip at the border.

Depending on how long it’s been since imported (a lot of pee-wees take over a year to finish) and time of year/hair load, these brands can be difficult to pick out.

I personally can’t easily identify a pen of mexs at a feedyard in winter. I highly doubt the kill floor folks would pick them out unless they were told in advance. I’ve had loads where National will take for themselves a “foreign origin discount” or some such and loads where they haven’t.
