Dis-assembled the oil cooler cover/filter head assembly.

First didn't think I found anything then looked up in the center of the filter head after the 4 bolts and adapter were removed and found this rough machining. Took a pick and easily broke off the chips.

This is on the clean side of the filter. Goes directly to the block under the green tape in the picture. Galley then goes vertical straight down to intersect the two cross drillings my fingers are pointing to.

Upper one feeds the piston coolers. Lower one goes the other side of the block to feed the main galley. Before it gets there it goes directly over #3 main and lubes it which then lubes #2 rod the one that failed.

I plan on ordering a new housing tomorrow and looking it over very carefully.

Thoughts?
