I doubt you will get the $10k for a used engine. About 4 years ago, yes I know prices have increased, but I needed to rebuild or replace a 3406E in a 1995 truck. The $10k engines weren’t even considered as to me there were too many unknowns. A local mechanic, complete in frame with new turbo and injectors, was $13,300. I think you have to be substantially less on used. Just my $.02.
