I need J20C. As long as the label says that, fine. The thing to watch for is if the label says something like AW32 -AW64. That is plain hydraulic oil. That will damage the back half of a tractor with wet brakes. Things like a truck hoist where the oil doesn't leave the system, that stuff is fine. Otherwise, I have never seen counterfeit oil labels. If it says what it is and that meets the specs, you are good. Keeping oil clean and topped off and changing filters is a different question.

Worst thing I ever heard of was a guy borrowed some roundup from a neighbor. He brought it back in a hydraulic oil bucket. That got put in a tractor. Wrecked it quick.
