We stayed at the Blackfeet Indian casino in St. Mary and drove in from the east side. I don't have many recommendations, as when we were there, it was being burned up pretty good inside the park, and most of the vistas were just smoke.

There are plenty of places/trails to hike that vary in difficulty.
