Subject: RE: Eutectic metal spray welding torch

Faunsdale, AL
I didn’t take pictures of the finished shaft. It seemed to be stuck on well and didn’t peel up even though I had some areas that were very thin with only a “thread” cut to help it adhere.

Recommended procedure is to undercut shaft first and then cut thread to get it some more surface area to key into. That way when you turn it back to size, you never cut through the overlay.

I used brazing to build up the worn out pulley bore but next time I’ll probably use the Eutectic torch instead. It’s a little easier to keep it where you want it than the brazing.
