I haven't done a lot of pex but the rolls I have don't straighten out good even when it''s warm. Had a small job a while back and bought a stick to use. I have one of the clamping tools that's probably 16 inchest long. Can be sort of awkward using at times. The barbs on the fittings are so short you really have to have your band positioned just right.
