This is the overweighing factor that has me most worried about the economy. We can get over an ecomonic slump and work our way out of it. Current trajectory of debt and the ultimate consequences are what gives me the long term "bad feeling" about this economy, even compeltely disregarding the current situation the domestic economy is in. Things may get better in the near term and I hope they do. But unless we change our ways, long term things don't look good.
