In the end you have to be able to trust the guys you're working with, but if it isnt being weighed, why you would you use a per ton rate to establish your bill? Seems hourly, per acre, or some other measureable unit would be a more fair and transparent method of billing for both parties?
In the absence of a reliable scale, we have found hourly rates to be most fair for both parties.
