Subject: RE: Ford/New Holland Genesis tractor

Whitewater, WI
We've had two genesis tractors. A 8870 and a 8770. We replaced the 8870 with a TG275 because we needed more hydraulic flow but it had been a good tractor. Had about 6,800 hours when we replaced it. Our 8770 is still on the farm. Only use it for pulling our side dress bar anymore. It has about 2,800 hours on it. Ours did not have a bulletproof funk transmission however. We got to do a full rebuild on it around 2,200 hours. We had only put about 400 hours on it at that point so I can't comment on the previous owners maintenance. Aside from that, it is a great tractor, however it doesn't have the torque that the 8870 has. If you are pulling even an average hill, I would consider an 8870. Our 8770 lugs pulling a blu-jet AT3000 15 row side dress bar.
