SW MN | The person who posted the reference to P396 has some "inside knowledge". This code was actually the internal project name given to the Genesis tractor project at FNH. I was told that the project numbers were sequential numbers entered into a log book, and P(project) 396 was simply the next one in line when they went to pull a new number. On the other hand, the Cat 34/45 tractors that shared some major components and went down the assembly line was named P395, but instead apparently represented the date (March 1995) when a certain number of initial tractors were supposed to be available at select Cat dealers. | |
