Big Sky Country | I’m told they like yr old—or older—-straw as the cellulose is breaking down, easier to digest.
Love round bales—-we single file them on old RR grade——seldom sell feed—-they only weather in a bit, have fed some so old we forgot their age, wrap pretty much deteriorated.
We like to plunk old straw, nasty hay in Apache feed wagon and graze/feed as usual (hydrabed, rolled out)
It lasts for days—or weeks—- come a storm, empties quick. Lush, washy grass in spring—-park it on way to water, same deal—no storm but they pick at it till it’s gone
If we do sell hay—-we sell the new and feed the old.
