| Work areas and places where you drive TMR etc through concrete is better but for a general loafing shed I'd definitely use limestone fines. it's Less than 5% the cost in our area but obviously varies by location (quality of limestone varies too and has an effect). I've had cattle barns with both and feel the limestone wicks away the moisture better so the straw/sawdust bedding stays drier. When I clean out it's almost as hard as concrete and if some gets spread on the field it's good for the soil. Make sure you use fines not a stone mix because it's not fun having rocks in your manure. | |
