If you want to read a good book on the history of the dollar and the gold standard search Amazon for "The Fate of the Dollar" by Martin Mayer, copyright 1980. He lays out the history of the dollar very well and predicts pretty much what we are going through right now (financially, not the health care and that stuff). The only thing is he thought it would happen far quicker than the 30 years it took for it to play out. He was just ahead of his time.

It is almost beyond belief some of the stuff that goes on behind closed doors, that average citizens don't have a clue of how it is affecting them. Corruption and submission of the working class by subversion is nothing new.
