Subject: RE: JD 9650W Straw Walker Failures

South Central Illinois

Was the wheat weedy?
Where does the return dump back in on a 9650W?
Sounds like,
It was run in wheat and plugged up at that time,
And run through soybean harvest,
And continued to be run, while plugged, in corn harvest.
Bearded wheat likes to plug things up.
I know that our rotor system has to be cleaned out before soybeans.
This is done while swapping Concaves.
The plugs of wheat beards will not self clean.
The 00 series did not have the pans built into the walkers,
They used an auger bed, under the walkers, instead.
They lengthened the walkers on the 20 series and installed the pans on the walkers.
Did the walkers and walker pans grow in the latter versions?
Most of the auger bed was replaced with a shaker pan, under the walkers, on the 95-9600
No idea how the 9650W is setup.
The walker pan looks rather long in the picture.
Looks like a plug waiting to happen.
