I go all out, I band with a California bander and then de-nut. 700# might be getting a bit big though (for the California bander) as you have to get a good grip on the nuts and then reach around with your other hand to grab the band, usually with just fingertips. After banding I slice the bag and take the nuts out. I’ve found this far better than leaving the nuts in the bag, the issue is the weight of the bag can make it fall off before it’s ready leaving a good size hole where the scrotum was. Especially true with the heavy nuts. Just slicing the bag with the nuts left in so they drag around in the corral weeds for a couple weeks is almost inhumane. The empty bag dries up pretty fast and little to no bleeding. And yes do the tetanus shot. I do a neighbor’s calves and he’s sold on the process.
