We have found that pure peppermint oil dabbed on some cotton balls randomly thrown about in closets and under cabinets keeps I repeat keeps mice out of house and also using them in barn in old farm truck and camper works great and nice smell if you like that smell We. found oil at health food store locally about 7 bucks but will soak 10-12 cotton balls Good luck
