The idea that the government prolonged the Great Depression is interesting. We spent 4 years digging a very deep ugly hole complete with a lot of life savings wiped out completely. 5 years later by 1938 the GDP was higher than it had ever been although unemployment was not ended until WWII. The question I have is if it took 4 years to get bad how many years should it have taken to get better? Don G
