I've grown it a couple times. Needs to have warm soils and a firm seed bed. Air flowing seems to work the best. It's tiny seed and is near impossible to get a drill set right.

The only benefit I've seen is it gets dry. Went back to millet for my annual grass. Quality similar and yields are way better.


What kind of millet?

(Went looking for information and found that there are a number of kinds of millet.)



I tried German millet twice. I couldn’t get it to compete with oats or barley for yield. Herbicide options are very few and mostly off label.

But I’m a long way from SE MB.
