Central SD | I think the packers know the numbers deal better than anyone else in the production chain. I had opportunity to sit in on a local producers meeting about a month ago. The speaker has about 45 years experience in the business and actually helps NASS put data together for the cattle on feed report. I straight up asked him how accurate is the report. He didn’t answer directly or give a relative number to it’s accurateness. I think the system has been gamed by some who are tired of margin calls on the wrong side of market. But once again it’s the little guys bearing the load for the big shots. I locked my LRP in after the report on Friday as fighting the system is futile at this point.
