Subject: John Deere 4230

Central Iowa
I’m trying to replace the radiator on a 4230 and I’m having a hard time getting the right one. I’ve tried 2 different A&I ones from Deere and neither work(AR-61883 and A-AR61880). The first problem is the clearance between the lower hose inlet and the shroud. I’ve already modified the shroud to get it hooked up, but now my fan blade hits both the left side of the shroud and the lower radiator hose. Deere only shows 1 shroud option and the Deere part number for the radiator is NLA, so the 2 A&I ones are the only options through the dealer. Has anyone else run into this issue? Wanting to use the tractor on a manure pump asap, so custom built or fixing the old one aren’t great options. Tractor is a diesel with factory AC. TIA
