Japanese millet on the marginal land. Pearl millet on better or higher fertility situation. I cut when the the weather looks right not how much time is between cuttings. German doesn't perform here very well. Don't let any off the millets go to seed or you will have a mess for a few years. Any of them work great for grazing also. Will cut in a couple other species to round oud the "ration" if i plan on grazing.

It's a rotational crop on my poor land because growing any species of spring poverty grass doesn't make sense if you need hay or a place to haul manure at more ideal times.
